Fun Sports & Arts – New Skills – Leadership

Academy: 11-14 years old
Our older campers have a greater freedom of choice of activities during the day.

We encourage the Academy to lead by example, in terms of behaviour and attitude and to take on more responsibility such as helping to lead activities.

The timetable for the day is structured to include set activities but we also give the children periods of free play, time to be creative and use their imagination. Sports activities end at 4.30; from 4.30 to 5.15pm the children return to their designated classrooms to relax and watch a film or engage in free play. From 5.15 through to 6pm, staff will ensure that activities are relaxed so that children have the chance to wind down at the end of the day.

Typical activities include: swimming session, football, tag rugby, basketball, bench ball, martial arts, dance, gymnastics, baseball, softball, athletics, hockey, cricket, climbing, kayaking, adventure playground, orienteering, cookery (where facilities are available) and bushcraft. Plus daily “pulse raiser” session.

We also have regular visits from sports and arts specialists – including Olympian athletes, bush craft specialists, the Forces and Services, cookery experts and arts and crafts demonstrations.
